Precinct Application

Study the map of your county to determine eligibility for a position as a Texas election judge. Every judge needs to be a qualified voter from the precinct where they live before Election Day.
Get involved in your political party to attain a position as a primary or alternate election judge in Texas. Texas electoral statutes dictate that judges are chosen for each precinct based on electoral results from the last gubernatorial race. The party with the highest number of votes in this race gets to select the election judge while the second-place party chooses the alternate judge”.  Read more: More about election judges

Precinct Chair

One of the most important jobs in your Republican Party is the precinct chair. The precinct chair serves as the direct connection between his or her local neighborhood and the candidates. You do not have to be politically savvy or connected to serve as your precinct’s chair person. If you embrace conservative ideals and are interested in making government respond to the people you can volunteer to serve.

Precinct chair filing is open until June 1 and the election is July 31.

Poll Watchers:

Job Description:  A poll watcher is someone who is appointed by a candidate or a political party to observe the election day procedures in a precinct in South Carolina. The poll managers of the polling place will designate a place where watchers can remain throughout election day.

Election Judges:

The state of Texas employs election judges to oversee the operations of precinct voting facilities during each election. These judges oversee clerks and other volunteers during equipment setup, voter registration and ballot counting to ensure fairness for all candidates.

Headquarter Volunteers:

Helping hands are needed for a wide variety of tasks including event help, putting together voter information packages, contacting voters as a reminder, participating in phone banks, etc.  There is certain to be an opportunity that is perfect for you!

Signage Volunteers:

The signage team is always looking for more help.  There is the task of identifying where to put signs in the county.  The next step is assisting in the distribution of those signs.  In the case of large signs, a team is warranted.  A plan will be made to ensure signs are at each of the polling locations.  This is a fun group that will get together a few times over the course of the election season.
